Abstract

Due to the recent rise in renewable energy penetration on the Queensland distribution and sub-transmission network, Energy Queensland is looking to optimise the utilisation of renewable energy generation. This dissertation focuses on the selection, design and justification of a suitable control system scheme which utilises currently unused capacity generator connected line. The dissertation uses the results from a historic analysis data to justify the design of a control system which enacts a ramp-back scheme allowing renew-able generators to export more power whilst remaining in accordance with the National Electricity Rules. Subsequent to the design of the control scheme, a simulation was run to ensure proper implementation of the control logic, a detailed analysis of which can be found in chapter 6.
