Raj, Kamurthi Eeranna Pavan (2017) Mixing method of cement mortar with soil and sugar. Coursework Masters thesis, University of Southern Queensland. (Unpublished)
Abstract
Abundantly available soil, naturally produced sugar replacing sand in cement mortar mix is a winning hypothesis in perspective of finding best mix method and alternate for sand. The effect on replacing sand with mixture of soil and sugar involves prefatory experiments like rate of hydration, compressive strength of cement mortar specimens, microscopic observation. Temperature test will help in determining rate of hydration of cement mortar mixes, helping in knowing settling time for cement mortar. After curing of cement mortar specimens all the mixes are under the influence of compressive test. Following compressive test microscopic observation will be conducted in order to know the porosity nature of specimens. From results, we shall compare it through normal mix of cement mortar in presence of sand. Investigating test results on cement mix in presence of sand and in presence of soil, sugar will decide best mixing method, an alternative material suitable for cement mortar.
