Abstract

The main objective of this study is to investigate the flexural behaviour of reinforced beam repaired with FRP composite material as a jacket. For strengthening used many types of jackets like steel, concrete, fibre. From researchers, FRP is the best option for strengthening the material. The pre-fabricated FRP system has the issue of joints. The significance of the project is to know the flexural behaviour of the concrete beam repaired with new type FRP jacket with a new joint. Using four specimens that are in that first one controls beam for other three beams. These beams are repairing by using the jacket in three different ways. In that one is infill and jacket without joint as a sleeve, another one is a jacket with infill and joint, the last one is an Epoxy coated jacket with infill and joint. These beams are tested to get the failure point using the four-point static bearing test to assess strength and stiffness. The load, deflection and strength recorded for each specimen. Experimental evaluation of the flexural behaviour of concrete beams repaired with a composite jacket. Then comparing the beam to find the effectiveness of the joint. First comparing the control beam and beam with infill & sleeve we get the effectiveness of the jacket. Then comparing the beam with infill & sleeve and beam with infill and jacket with the joint. Present research is the study for strengthened the flexural members. Theoretical evaluation of the flexural behaviour of concrete beams repaired with a composite jacket and comparison with experimental results.
