Abstract
It is in the interest of training providers to know if they are providing a quality service and understand the impression they are leaving on customers. TacMed is one such training provider and requested this study so to increase the interpretability of their course feedback. A common means of measuring training feedback is the Three Factor Model (TFM) for training evaluation. To increase the interpretability of TacMed’s existing feedback, items from the Perceived Utility of Training (PUT) and Perceived Trainer Performance (PTP) scales from the TFM were added to the existing feedback form and a cross-validation study was conducted between TacMeds existing survey items and the TFM. A sample of N = 375 students completed feedback forms from n = 39 courses. It was hypothesised the survey item’s latent variability would clump into three distinct factors, and these factors would both share and have distinct latent variability. An exploratory factor analysis extracted a utility factor and a general satisfaction factor and a proceeding confirmatory factor analysis evidenced this two factor model. These results help validate the TFMs utility construct; however, due to survey issues, the EFA results could not be interpreted as evidence against the validity of the PTP construct.
