Moye, Daniel (2011) Internalized and Perceived Stigma of Mental Illness. Honours thesis, University of Southern Queensland. (Unpublished)
Abstract
The Stigma of mental illness remains a pervasive problem, despite advancement in public knowledge and treatment. N=64 participants completed survey measures investigating internalized stigma(ISMI), perceived stigma (PDDS), psychological distress (K10), stage of recovery (STORI). No statistically significant differences were established using ANOVA or independent-samples t-tests, and only Gender was found to be significant, although the regression found that the hierarchical model was not significant (F (5, 50) 1.05, p >.05).
