Abstract

This research project is aimed at design, construction, commissioning and general engineering management of synchronisation contriols , load management controls, diesel engine alternator controls interface, power systems analysis and protection grading studies for the Dampier Bunbury Natural gas Pipeline Stage 5B Expansion Project.
All of the project aims have been successfully fulfilled. Design, construction and commissioning difficulties were overcome, either by detailed investigation of the design and systems capabilities prior to construction or by redesign and installation onsite.
The major achievement of this research project has been the implementation of the previously mentioned designs on the single most critical piece of Western Australia's energy infrastructure by an undergraduate engineer
