Robert S, Ward (1991) Aspects of the geology of the Brandy Gully area, Yowah, Southwest Queensland. [USQ Project]
Abstract
The Brandy Gully area was mapped and samples were taken for x-ray diffraction analysis and thin section study. Five distinct lithologies were identified in the area: Ferrous litharenite, clay litharenite, siltstone, clay and clay breccia.
At least two episodes of faulting was recognised. The first resulted in imbricate listric faults and may have been a product of extensional strain, the second episode of faulting resulted in planar faults.
Some evidence was found to indicate that hydrothermal activity may have been involved in the formation of the geology of the Brandy Gully area.
