Abstract
Over the past 20 years, the hotel industry has been grown worldwide, currently employing more than 200 million peoples. In some part of the world having tourist attraction, tourism is main income source. The number of people travelling for their business purposes or pleasure is going on increases and which give boost to national economy. This research mainly describes the uses of the energy in the hotel. It also target at presenting the present scenario globally and talk over environmental sustainable and compatible alternatives sources of energy resources in hotels. More emphasis is given to the increase uses of renewable energy sources as well as passive heating/cooling and shading/lighting strategy in hotel buildings. Use and working of geo thermal energy unit is described in the report. Different aspects like advantages disadvantages are discussed briefly of different types of alternative energy resources. Properly designed planned and operated hotels facilities offer excellent socio cultural and environmental advantages as well as opportunity for sustainable business.
