Abstract
In today’s world of rapidly changing technology, it is a challenge to introduce a new technology effectively into the educational system and one such technology is the “Internet of Things” or popularly known as the IoT. One way of introducing it is through a practical approach which makes the learning easier and more interesting. Hence, this project aims to introduce the concept of IoT and its application in industry with the aid of a simple system that recreates an industrial scenario.
The system utilizes an IoT gateway called the Simatic IoT2040 manufactured by Siemens for the implementation of an automatic control of temperature by varying the speed of the fan using a PID loop and PWM technique. The application is designed to impart basic knowledge about Industrial automation and IoT concepts.
