Abstract
The most common natural fibres are jute, hemp, sisal, kenaf as these are habitually used in the process of bio composites manufacturing. Natural fibres have been studied by many researchers for the purposes of being used in polymer composites because of their sustainability and eco-friendly nature. This project aims at reviewing the widely used Natural Fibre Reinforced Polymer Composites (NFPCs) and the various manners in which the NFPCs are used. To add to this, the project also talks about the different treatments which are applied to fibres that are natural and their effects on various properties of NFPCs. The different mechanical characteristics of reinforced natural fibres will also be assessed. NFPCs properties vary with the fibre type and the source of fibre as well as the structure of the fibre. Different chemical treatment effects on thermal and mechanical traits of natural fibres reinforcement thermoplastics and thermosetting composites have also been considered.
The most common natural fibres are jute, hemp, sisal, kenaf as these are habitually used in the process of bio composites manufacturing. They are literally known as plant-based fibres that own sustainability, high strength to weight ratio, renewability, non-corrosive, destructive, toughness, which results better than other materials. This is not a new thing in which they were utilized in drug/gene, orthopaedics, cosmetics, and tissue engineering applications. The cause behind the selection of the bio composites is due to the possible nature of replacing or serving like as a framework as it allows the regeneration of traumatized and degenerated of organs, which improves the quality of life of the patient that presents in bio composites. This is very low cost and recyclable as compared to other materials. The main aim of the project is the use of hemp fibre and with bio-resin/synthetic resin to develop the biomedical applications which are suitable for the human body. This can be reviewed by testing the specimen in various percentages on flexural testing machine and analysed. Finally, by using SEM the clear analysis is done by representing the crack, toughness and tail type.
